Kamarul’s Determination Seals Victory

Round 2 of the 2025 AEON Credit MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship lit up the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit today, where Kamarul Izad Ishak of KOYAK DESIGN LUQMANAN BY ZYNERGY RACING powered to an impressive win in Race 1 of the MSBK1000 B category.

At the start, Malaysia’s Law Kien Huey led the field, with Kamarul close behind. By lap 2, Kamarul managed to overtake Kien Huey, though the latter reclaimed the lead on the very next lap. Behind them, Teuku Irfan Affandy of TRIPLE A GARAGE faced mounting pressure from Theva Kumaran of MOBILUB SUZUKI RACING TEAM in the battle for third.

Undeterred, Kamarul kept pushing and retook the lead on lap 7. Meanwhile, Theva also found his way past Teuku to move up into third position.

Kamarul crossed the finish line first with a time of 23’02.571s, ahead of Kien Huey at 23’06.977s, while Theva rounded out the podium in 23’36.016s.

Speaking after his win, Kamarul shared:

“I started from the back today because I exited the pit late. This was my first race, so I wasn’t familiar with the procedure. From the back, I focused on keeping my momentum and fighting for the lead. Alhamdulillah, my effort paid off and I took first place. Tomorrow, InsyaAllah, I’ll maintain this momentum — and that late pit exit won’t happen again!”
